The corporation is in your house

Last week many of my friends posted on their page to watch The apprentice on nbc sunday because "their" company was going to be "primetime". I did watch it and to my surprise they weren't even on. Just a few top people and a seminar type crowd. Now maybe they were in that crowd but who cares since they're lost in it?

Have you ever seen "the invasion" with Nicole Kidman? An alien lifeform, much like a fungus or spore infects many people, robbing them of their emotions when they enter REM sleep. Well I consider this company the same way. Now people actually think that this is "their" company !!!!!! And just like in the movie they are to my opinion completely brainwashed by it.

I used to have a couple who were both people I hang out almost everyday. We shall call them John and Jane for anonymity purposes. Then Jane decided to join ACN. Now this company isn't new to me since my father lost a couple of friends to these types of companies. Like monsters in a zombie movie, these people show up at your gate, behind you in the supermarket or next to you at a party with their catalogs and well prepared speeches trying to sell you "better" products or convert you. A pyramid company where you pay to join and get more money the more people you convert. So you can imagine the frenzy of these people who want to live The acn Dream.

I'm an artist, a revolutionary and anti-commercialist so I don't like closed minded rich people. In fact I hate them. To me they are the scum of the earth. These are the people that exploit and use people and sleep well at night. The modern slave masters. So of course I nicely declined an invitation from John to spend new years at one of ACN's elite party. (Now note that John isn't part of the company, only Jane his girlfriend is.) He got really mad and said that I had to "stop feeling inferior" and to "just get dressed in my nicest clothes and come to the party".
Needless to say I laughed in his face.
I am who I am even when I'm naked. My clothes don't define me and I'm sure ain't going to change them in order to "impress" some people. I might dress in a suit in order to trick and blend in. A disguise so I can wander through that system undetected.

If you're wonderering whatever happened to John and Jane, they separated when John couldn't pass the ACN's 10 things your significant other HAS to have list. Hilarious!!!And I assure you it's true. They even tell you that in order to get rich you have to make sacrifices. That some people are "obstacles". He scored 9 out of 10 of her list but that wasn't enough.

So to my normal people I say keep a sharp eye for the signs. If someone close to you (it might be a friend, a relative, even your spouse or husband) starts going to seminars every week or trying to sell you stuff instead of coming over for a simple chat then he/she is INFECTED!!!!
I recommend quarantine. Get them away from these seminars, show them the beautiful and important things of life like walks in the parc or cuddling on the couch. Sometimes it is too late and they are too far ACN branded. In that case may god be with them :)

Ken and Barbie hate mirrors :p

Not so long ago I was trying to join a blog group. And so the administrators were having a vote on it. 2 or 3 people were against, since they only wanted to admit "happy and positive people".
And so it got me thinking: what about me comes off as the contrary to that?
Is it the fact that I'm blogging about some truth that bothers or is it because I hand them a mirror and they don't like what they see?

Should we all become smiling stepford people*?
I count myself lucky in life. I may not live large money wise but I'm happy. Still, i'd be insulting my intelligence if I chose to just "close my eyes".
When Bush announced that he was planning to have war with iraq I was out in the streets. And when later on I turned the Tv and saw how many countries were in the streets against it and how many people, I was just...amazed! I caught myself thinking that for one of the rare times in history the whole world revolts against something so inhuman, together. So of course when the war started anyway I was crushed. That same night some friends went out clubbing and asked me to come along. I just couldn't. I kept having visions of the women and children in Iraq. One of my friends told me that I didn't know anyone in Iraq so that she couldn't understand how that could keep me from going dancing.

When will we care? When misery comes to our continent? Will we care when it come to our country? Our city? Or only when it comes to ourselves? Has the world become so egoist that we should just close our eyes on the bum in the streets or the woman crying in a corner and pretend they don't exist?

I still have hope that one day people will start to slowly realize that this way ain't working.
Yes, one day I hope that the word "hope" won't simply be pronounced by the mouth of yet another politician but really exist in the hearts of people. Cuz with the hunger / suicide / crime rates just going up, this way surely ain't working.

So to all the stepford people* wanting me to shut up, I give you the salute. And at the end of the day, my life will have such substance...

* Stepford : From the movie Stepford wives, where normal people are transformed to barbie like / always smiling / weird "perfect" persons.

People

Before We start:
In this post, I reefer to the general public as people. The 90% of people who are glued to the actual system. Who live their daily routine lives without ever questioning their purpose and goals, their ways of life. The 90% of people who tell you "you're talking shit" when you think or have a different opinion about what life is about.
~ Thank you and have a nice tour in my mind :P

People tend to take things personal. Much too personal. Its like whe're permanently in a reality show where they NEED the drama.
95% of my friends never leave a message. So in my head, you had nothing to say so why call back? I mean if someone really needs me, and for whatever reason, be it for a service or just to know how i'm doing, then why not let me know on my voicemail? or just a "Hey Gab call me back"? The thing is that they actually get angry when I don't answer. So they hang up.

Having a cell equals always being available in people's head nowadays. People actually didn't invite me to parties cuz I didn't answer the phone. They called but left no message. A few days later I ask why didn't you tell me about the party?
- "I called but you didn't answer"
- why not leave a message?
- I don't do messages.
People don't care that you're having a nice romantic dinner, that you are in the movies, having sex. When they call how dare you not answer? Me, I'm more of a " I'de prefer to live in the 1410 years with the indian tribes in the caribbean" type of guy. So I don't like having a cellphone implanted in my ear 24/7.

People just don't leave you alone. It's like that new cigarette commercial. They creep out of everywhere. Show up at your house unannounced. Stalk you on facebook. Call you but never leave messages. If I had a crew of paparazzies following me Im sure people would read me in "In touch" even tough Im not famous. It don't stop.
If I keep having fun with everyone, when will I have the time to build a career, a strong relationship? Will any of you give me some money or a good wife if I don't do so well? Oh then it's every man or woman for him/her self?

Yes, people need people in order to survive. I once knew a guy who came to my house as soon as I woke up (8am) and only left when I was about to sleep (12~1 am). Matter o' fact I knew 2 or 3 of them. They even wanted to sleep on my couch so they would never have to leave. Keep in my mind that these people had houses and food. I asked one of them once, "When do you get time to reflect on yourself or be creative if you're never alone?" and he answered to my surprise
" I don't"
